Hines' Country Boy and Hines' Snowbird

(Please the read important warning below before watching)

WARNING: The Snowbird videoclip shows graphic hunting scenes, legally filmed in the Southern United States in 1990. This videoclip is shown purely to portray Snowbird in an historic context, at work as a hunting dog in South Carolina. If you are likely to find this in any way offensive, please do not watch the video. The first half of the video shows Hines' Country Boy and contains no material that may cause offence. Switch off the video when the Country Boy clip finishes if you would prefer not to view the hunting videoclip.

Whatever your feelings are about hunting with dogs, this video clip of the legendary Hines' Snowbird vividly shows her extraordinary drive and tenacity: that is the only reason why it is featured here. It is not shown to titillate.

For those who are unfamiliar with this traditional style of wild boar hunting, a bulldog is used to seize and hold firm the boar to allow the huntsman to more safely approach his quarry. The huntsman is essentially surrendering his safety to the custody of a dog, so clearly any dog used in this way needs to be highly trustworthy and reliable and Snowbird was a working dog of the highest calibre in this field. If a bulldog were to allow a wild boar to break free of its hold, the consequences could potentially be very dire for the huntsman. You will notice the huntsman moving in at the very end of the videoclip.

Doggehouse does not condone any illegal or cruel acts.

The video clips of Country Boy were filmed at Billy Hines' kennels in Texas, 1991/92.
